Topic: Conceptual Plan for a Proposed Hartford Highway Tunnel System to Replace the Current I-84 and I-91 Interchange
 
Charles (Chuck) Sheehan is the former CEO of the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC).  He retired from the MDC on February 1, 2015.  Before heading the MDC, Sheehan was executive director of the Capital City Economic Development Authority from 2003 to 2005 as it moved forward with a $1 billion redevelopment project that included the UConn Stadium at Rentschler Field, Capital Community College’s downtown campus in the old G. Fox Building, the Connecticut Convention Center and Marriott hotel, and reconstruction of the Hartford Civic Center. He previously served as deputy commissioner of the state Department of Public Works and as a design engineer with the state Department of Transportation. Sheehan had a 43-year military career, including 10 years of active service and decades in the Connecticut National Guard, retiring as an army brigadier general.
 
Connecticut State Senator Timothy (Tim) Larson is the Deputy Majority Leader and was elected in November 2014, and again in 2016, to serve the 3rd State Senatorial District communities of East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington, and South Windsor. He is the Chair of the Insurance & Real Estate; Public Safety and Security Committees, Vice Chair of the Commerce and General Law Committees and a Member of the Transportation Committee. Senator Larson is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Sociology. He is a successful businessman, having served as President of the Larson and Lysik Insurance Agency and he is currently the Executive Director of the Tweed New Haven Regional Airport Authority.

Directions: From I-95 South: Take Exit 83 "Frontage Road, Shopping Malls." Take the first exit off Frontage Road after the sign for the Coast Guard Academy (the exit will be marked "Briggs Street"). At the end of the exit, turn left. Just past the second traffic light is the main gate to the Academy on the right. 

From I-95 North: Take Exit #82A "Frontage Road, Shopping Malls." Take right off Frontage Road after the sign for the Coast Guard Academy (the exit will be marked "  Briggs Street"). Turn left at the light at the end of the exit. Just past the third traffic light, the main gate to the Academy is on the right.

From I-395 South: Take Exit 78 "Conn 32 New London" (left side exit). About 2 miles after the merge with Route 32 South, you will pass the Coast Guard Academy on the left. Take the first exit past the Coast Guard Academy, marked "Route 95 South, New Haven." Turn right at the stop sign stop sign at the end of the exit. Turn right at next stop sign. Turn left at next traffic light. The main gate to the Academy is on the right.
